Birmingham

I have been researching some families in Birmingham. They were living in the area near Curzon Street Station where Italians lived in the Italian Quarter. Most of this area was demolished and is where HS2 and New Curzon Street Station would be built.

The Bacciochi family lived at 30 Bartholomew St they were in 1861, 1871 census as this same address at Lodging House Keeper and the lodgers were English not Italian. But couldn’t find them before then.

For 1851 only part of the street is included in the census the Italians were not included. Useful information about the Italian quarter please see below
